It was a drizzly and gloomy evening, but it did not stop the forty odd hardcore hashers to particpate this run. It was 6.00pm
and the grandmaster was not in sight and so the Jointmasters. The early birds already entered the bush including the Jointmaster
Vijai. The hare Hawaii Five " O " is well known for his love for hill climbing, and so without any further delay the mob slowly
walked into the bush. On the way in, we saw the early bird Sleeping Beauty coming out, pants covered with mud, apparently
having a fall somewhere. Soon, we were at the foot of the Lendu hill, Dr Dave and others shaked their heads and retreated. Only
Oil Rig Lim and I was stubborn enough to proceed. Due to the down pour earlier, the path was very wet and slippery. we soon were on the
ascent of the Lendu hill. It was a going through a rubber plantation, with fell trunks and branches here and there. It was very
difficult to move around especially the sloping ground was soft and slippery. we had nearly fallen many times. Alas, finally
we reached the top of the hill near the DIGI tower and the paper trail was leading down the hill. Seeing the slope down the hill
and a couple of hills further, we decided to out smart the hare. " Let's look for the tower" Lim said. Without difficulty, the
mountain bike Champ soon found the tower and from there on, we had an easy descent, tarred path all the way down the hill. At
the foot of the hill, we met hares Hawaiis and Peter Looi laying papers on the home trail. It was still early. Thinking not to waste
the good effort of the hares, we turned right and ran on the home trail until we met the first runner, then we follwed him back
to the run site. Altogether, we had an hour run. We made a wise decision as the last runners, Briggles, Utom and a guest came out at about 8.15pm.
The migrating birds Kaiser and wife, were here seeking shelter from the cold winter in Germany, and the long lost soul, CIA, Mike
& co were mingling around and apparently now Mike had become a staunch supporter for the Bush after the election. The hash circle soon followed and this time, the chiefs
were put on ice with the Yogi Bear, failing to lead the pack to the bush and the GM, who came late and deserted wife Biggles,
in the bush.
" ON On ' was at Dimensi Restaurant, somewhere 50 meters after the Lendu/ Masjid Tanah junction. 5 tables were fully occupied, and
because hare Hawaii Five " O " is a prominent figure in the hashing community of Melaka such that supporters from Sunday, Monday, and Thursday
hashers came for the on on too, I am not too sure whether they ran or not! All the bill of the food was footed by the hares.
A big " Thank You " to the hares!
Verdict of the run: I am not qualified to comment as I was a SCG ( short cut gentleman ), so it is best to let Drugbuster who has promised
