A Wet Slippery Run

Run No: Run 1662 ( 31 Oct 2006 )
Hare: Ho Tat Phoon/ Chee Cheng Seng

Too many runs had been laid at Bertam Ulu lately, however the run site chosen was somehow different. It was a wet evening due to the earlier shower but it made a pleasant environment for the run.

I reached the run site at 5.45pm and the hare Horlicks was seen busy collecting subscription fees. “Hey what happen? You are not laying papers? “I saw him some sort of limping around. “I have a serious gout problem, VJ is helping with Chee Seng “. VJ, the Bhai who is often lost his way in laying the papers and the trail would end up like a turban. “We had better keep our fingers crossed!” I Thought.

The run started at 6.00 pm sharp after the warm up exercise conducted by Sampa Bui. It was a nice run through the oil palm estate, except that we had to crawl in and out of three deep overhead ditches, especially the last one where Dr Dave had to attempt four climbs to come up with the help of us. Sam, Dr Dave, Wendy and her boy friend, and I were the last lot. The run was a bit too long and by the time we came out to the run site, it was well over 7.30pm. It was dark and yet we had to cross the drains cautiously and sure the Bhai was sworn and blamed.

Hash circle was carried out as usual where the Hash Whip Balan announced that Perth won the bid to be the organizer for Interhash 2008. We had a guest of honor, Esko from Helsinki HHH, Finland. Esko is not a stranger among MH3 members as he was a member of three years during his expatriate days in Melaka. At the restaurant Soon Hong, three tables were fully occupied. On downs continued with the GM cracking jokes as usual. That was an enjoyable evening with the announcement that the hares footed the food bill and Esko contributed three bottles of beer per table. Thank you hares and Esko.
